VOID Audio 0.2.0-dev.1

Published 18 September 2026

Development release. The notes below record changes at this version; consult current help for today’s availability and limitations.

Added

WordPress-independent Float32 engine with validated PCM16/24/32 and IEEE float32 WAV import.

Neutral offline processing graph and deterministic float32, PCM16 and PCM24 WAV export.

Source waveform with per-channel lanes and responsive, peak-preserving display bins.

Crest factor, per-channel peak/RMS, basic stereo correlation and over-full-scale sample count.

Original/rendered previews and local `_VOID.wav` downloads.

Engine tests and Chrome integration tests, including independent browser WAV decoding.

Changed

Import no longer depends on the audio device's sample rate or Web Audio decoder.

Rendering and encoding run in cooperative chunks with cancellation on reset/replacement.

Development limits are now 128 MiB input and 16,777,216 decoded channel samples, replacing the previous 512 MiB file-only limit.

Engine asset is a dependency of the existing shortcode application; assets remain demand-loaded.

Fixed

Prevented import resampling through the default playback context.

Rejected truncated RIFF chunks, inconsistent frame lengths, invalid formats and non-finite audio.

Prevented stale imports/exports and pending playback from overriding a newer selection/reset.

PCM export fails explicitly instead of silently clipping out-of-range samples.

Security

No uploads, endpoints, persistence, external requests or new dependencies added to the application.

Filenames are displayed with textContent; suggested download names are sanitized.

Strict declared-length checks, decoded allocation limits and chunk-count bounds precede decoding.

Known issues

Development build; live WordPress/cPanel and Safari/Firefox acceptance testing remains outstanding.

Float32 internal storage cannot retain all 32-bit integer precision. PCM reductions are undithered.

No LUFS, true peak, DSP mastering, metadata preservation or seamless level-matched A/B.

Browser/device playback can resample or downmix; offline export preserves rate and channels.

Memory caps reduce risk but do not guarantee sufficient memory on every device.
