Before you start: open the current VOID studio in a modern browser. These instructions describe the development release and use locally generated demonstration audio in screenshots.

Four useful listening states
Original playback auditions your imported source. Live processed playback runs the current chain. Checked rendered playback auditions the completed output buffer. Loudness-matched comparison changes audition gain to make a comparison fairer; it does not change exported gain.
01 / Choose a meaningful passage
Import your WAV and select a passage that exposes the decision you are making: drum transients for compression, a dense section for tonal balance, or a quiet passage for unwanted artifacts. Start playback deliberately; VOID does not autoplay.
02 / Switch deliberately
Use the labeled transport controls to compare the original and processed sound. After a render completes, use rendered playback to hear the checked output. Watch the active playback state so you know which signal you are hearing.
03 / Use matched comparison
Enable the available loudness-matched comparison after the required measurements are ready. Listen for tonal balance, movement and distortion rather than simply choosing the louder signal. Matching is an audition aid, not a mastering preset.
If you edit the chain, a previous render becomes stale. Re-render before judging final measurements or rendered playback. If live processed playback is unavailable in your browser, use the render path where supported and consult the playback troubleshooting guide.
